The Indian Society of Otology (ISO)

The Indian Society of Otology (ISO) is a professional organisation of ENT surgeons specialising in Otology, Otoneurology, Implantation Otology, and allied fields. It has over 1,600 members across India, making it one of the largest ENT surgeon organisations in the country. ISO was founded in September 1991 in Chennai and is registered and headquartered there. Since 1992, ISO has conducted 25 National Conferences in various parts of India (till 2016).

The Indian Society of Otology (ISO) were founded by Dr. K. K. Ramalingam (Chennai) Dr. Mahadevaiah (Bangalore), Dr. P. G. Visvanathan (Coimbatore), Dr. M. G. Tepan (Pune), Dr. Anand Shah (Mumbai), Dr. Prabodh Karnik (Mumbai) The society aims to promote education, research, and knowledge dissemination in Otology and related sciences. It also works to advance preventive and therapeutic services for deafness and hearing health, and advocates for the interests of Otologists in India. ISO offers national and international travel fellowships to enhance the training of young Otologists.

The Indian Society of Otology conducts Annual Conference every year along with other academic activities throughout the year.
